APC Chieftain Pays Tribute to Late Finance Minister Alhaji

Mallam Yusuf Dingyadi, a veteran journalist and Senior Special Assistant to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), paid tribute to the late Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, a former Finance Minister and elder statesman. Dingyadi described Alhaji as a trusted leader who exemplified integrity, service, and compassion.

In his condolence message, he reflected on their relationship, which developed during their journalism careers and their involvement with the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA). Dingyadi recalled a reception hosted by Alhaji in honor of him and two others, which solidified their bond.

He also mentioned Alhaji's hospitality towards a delegation of BBC journalists during the turbaning of the late Sultan of Sokoto, where Alhaji shared his wealth of experience. Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji served as Minister of National Planning and later Minister of Finance under former military President Ibrahim Babangida, and was recognized as a key figure in Nigeria's economic policy during a challenging period.
