APC Welcomes New Leaders and Supporters in Kano

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received a significant number of politicians and their supporters into the party during an event in Kano, as part of the preparations for the 2027 elections. Among the notable figures welcomed were three sitting or former senators: Rufa'i Sani Hanga, Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, and Baraka Sani, each arriving with their supporters.

The defections included members from the New Peoples Party (NNPP), such as Senator Mas'ud Eljibrin Doguwa, Abdullahi Zubairu Abiya, and Abdulmajid Dauda Dandawaki, along with Isyaku Ali Danja, a former Speaker. Additionally, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yusuf Bello Danbatta and his supporters joined the APC.

The event also saw Ali Datti Yako, the NDC State Deputy Chairman, and other NDC executives defecting to the APC. The APC continues to strengthen its presence in Kano ahead of the upcoming elections.
