APC Withdraws Petition Against Adeleke's Re-election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially withdrawn its petition challenging the re-election of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, just a day after the petitions were displayed at the governorship election tribunal in Osogbo. Lawyer Oluseyi Oyagbile confirmed the withdrawal on Tuesday, stating he acted on new instructions from APC leaders.

This decision followed a public disavowal of the petition by another legal team led by Abiodun Layonu (SAN), which claimed that neither the party nor its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, had authorized the challenge to the August 15 election. Oyagbile mentioned that he received instructions to withdraw the petition on Tuesday morning and requested written confirmation to avoid further controversy.

Two petitions had been filed at the tribunal, marked EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026 and EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, with the first attributed to APC and the second to PDP candidate Adebayo Adedamola, both of whom later denied authorizing the respective petitions.
