ADC Group Calls APC's 12.9m Membership Claim Fraudulent

The Grassroots Mobilisation Network (GMN), a support group of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has labeled the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s claim of having 12.9 million registered members as “a scam and outright fraud.” GMN spokesperson Comrade Peter Emeka issued a statement in Abuja, urging the APC to publish its membership register for public verification. The group accused the APC of fabricating membership figures to create a misleading impression of widespread support ahead of the 2027 general election, alleging that these inflated numbers could be used to facilitate electoral manipulation.

GMN emphasized that genuine political popularity cannot be manufactured and criticized the APC for failing to address pressing issues like food security, safety, and employment. They challenged the APC to substantiate its claims by making its membership database available for scrutiny, warning that unverified figures could erode public confidence in Nigeria's electoral system and deepen voter apathy.
