APM Challenges Tinubu on Economic Claims Amid Hardship

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) issued a challenge to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to leave the Presidential Villa and visit local communities and markets to assess the true state of Nigeria’s economy and security. This statement, released on Wednesday by APM’s National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, criticized President Tinubu’s claims made during an engagement with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, where he asserted that his administration had stabilized the economy.

The APM described these claims as “illusory,” arguing they contradict the experiences of Nigerians facing rising living costs, insecurity, and economic hardship. The party emphasized that the removal of fuel subsidies and subsequent price increases have exacerbated these issues.

Furthermore, the APM accused the administration of failing to effectively address terrorism and violent crimes, stating that insecurity continues to threaten lives and livelihoods across Nigeria. The party condemned the government's portrayal of the economic situation as misleading, particularly to respected religious leaders.
