APM Criticizes Tinubu's Handling of Insecurity in Nigeria

The APM condemned President Bola Tinubu's administration for its inability to tackle the escalating insecurity in Nigeria, which has been reported as the 4th most insecure country in the world according to the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) 2026. Abubakar Yusuf, the APM National Publicity Secretary, criticized General Christopher Musa (rtd), the Minister of Defence, for stating that the security situation has improved, calling it a dangerous distortion of reality.

The APM highlighted that Nigeria's insecurity rating has worsened, climbing from 6th to 4th place in the GTI. They expressed disappointment that a minister could make such claims while millions of Nigerians suffer from killings, kidnappings, and displacements.

The APM also noted that over 600,000 Nigerians have been killed during Tinubu's presidency, with 2.2 million others abducted. They cited recent abductions in Niger State and criticized the administration for being disconnected from the reality faced by families across the nation.
