Makinde Names Daura as Running Mate for 2027 Election

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has officially announced Lawal Musa Daura, the former Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS), as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election under the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM). This announcement was made on Thursday following the APM National Convention held at Rilwan Adamu Square in Bauchi State.

Daura served as the Director-General of the SSS from 2015 to 2018 and possesses extensive experience in Nigeria’s intelligence and security sector. Makinde, who accepted the APM presidential ticket, committed to tackling insecurity and alleviating poverty in Nigeria.

He stated that Daura's selection was intentional due to his relevant experience in addressing security challenges. Makinde also expressed his readiness to collaborate with others who share his vision for a better Nigeria, linking current hardships to poorly implemented policies.

He emphasized the need for practical reforms in various sectors, including oil and gas and agriculture, to improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
