Makinde Selects Lawal Daura as Running Mate for 2027

Seyi Makinde, the presidential candidate for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), has appointed Lawal Daura, who served as the Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS) from 2015 to 2018, as his running mate for the upcoming 2027 presidential election. Daura was unveiled during the APM national convention on Thursday at the Rilwan Adamu Square in Bauchi, where Makinde was also formally declared the party's presidential candidate.

The Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, stated that Daura was chosen for his extensive experience in security matters, which is crucial given Nigeria's escalating security challenges. Makinde aims to prioritize national security in his campaign and has expressed a commitment to collaborate with like-minded politicians to foster national development.

Additionally, he has pledged to address poverty and improve living conditions for Nigerians, attributing current economic hardships to poorly implemented policies in recent years.
