APM Terminals Apapa Leads Clean-Up at Lagos Port Complex

APM Terminals Apapa conducted a large-scale clean-up exercise at the Lagos Port Complex on Tuesday, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability during its 2026 Go Green Week. Employees mobilized to clean major access roads within the port, aiming to reduce waste and promote environmental stewardship.

The initiative is part of APM Terminals' annual global campaign to achieve net-zero operations by 2040. This year's theme, “Healthy Ecosystems… More Resilient and Sustainable Business,” emphasizes the link between natural environments and business performance.

The clean-up covered a significant stretch of the port corridor, from the Finger Jetty to the main gate of APM Terminals Apapa. Employees collected various types of waste, including plastics and debris.

The exercise also saw participation from the Nigerian Ports Authority, highlighting the importance of collaboration among port stakeholders. Kamal Alhraishat, Managing Director of APM Terminals Apapa, stated that Go Green Week serves as a platform for raising environmental awareness and encouraging collective action within the port community.
