APP Forms Committee for Imo State Congresses Ahead of 2027

The Action Peoples Party (APP) has constituted a four-man electoral committee to supervise the upcoming congresses in Imo State, which are set to take place from April 22 to April 26, 2026. This decision was formalized in a letter appointing the committee, dated Monday, April 20, 2026, and addressed to the Imo State chairman.

The committee is tasked with ensuring a credible, transparent, and inclusive process that will lead to the election of new party executives across the state, thereby strengthening the APP's grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 general elections. The panel is chaired by Okenz Blyden Amajirionwu, a former member of the Imo State House of Assembly representing Ngor Okpala constituency.

Other members include Hon. Michael Crown Njoku, Chief Nwaodu Ezenwa, and Hon.

Chinaka Ikechukwu. The initiative follows the dissolution of the previous state executive and the appointment of an interim caretaker committee led by Hon.

Ernest Njesi, aiming to consolidate the APP's presence in the state and provide a credible alternative leadership for the people of Imo.
