APP Plans Congresses in Imo State for April 2026

The Action Peoples Party (APP) in Imo State has announced its plans to conduct congresses at the ward, local government area (LGA), and state levels, scheduled to commence on April 22, 2026, with the LGA congress on April 24 and the state congress on April 26. This initiative aims to deepen the party's democratic structure and ensure compliance with the Electoral Act.

Cajetan Duke, the state interim public secretary, emphasized the importance of transparency and adherence to regulatory requirements in the party's activities. Ernest Njesi, the state congress strategy chairman, noted that these congresses would help consolidate the party's presence in Imo State and ignite a desire for victory.

The congresses are expected to reflect the genuine wishes of party members and promote a leadership that is accountable and people-oriented, preparing the party for the 2027 general elections.
