APP Declared Largest Opposition Party in Imo State

Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, a member representing Ideato North in the Imo State House of Assembly and a chieftain of the Action Peoples Party (APP), declared that the APP is the largest opposition party in Imo State. Speaking during the inauguration of newly elected ward and local government executives in his hometown of Akokwa, Ideato North, on a Saturday, he highlighted the party's ongoing efforts to provide constructive criticism of the ruling party and hold it accountable for delivering democratic dividends to the people of Imo.

Ikeagwuonu stated that no other party offers a strong opposition comparable to the APP, which he described as having the strongest structure at the ward and local government levels. He emphasized the party's principles of equity, fairness, and open-door policies, which resonate with the electorate.

He also noted that the APP is the second-largest party in the state assembly, with two representatives across ten federal constituencies, and urged grassroots leaders to expand the party's structure in preparation for the 2027 elections, warning that underperforming leaders should be replaced.
