Goddai Appah Wins WBO Africa Cruiserweight Title

Goddai Appah was awarded the WBO Africa Cruiserweight title belt following a split decision victory against Ezra Arenyeka at a ceremony held in Lagos on May 1. The event, organized by Balmor Group, aimed to symbolize peace and promote boxing in Nigeria.

Appah expressed his happiness in holding the title and praised Balmor Group for their efforts in elevating the sport. Ezekiel Adamu, the Chief Executive Officer of Balmor Group, outlined the organization's ambition to place local fighters on the world stage, emphasizing the importance of developing emerging talent.

Adamu revealed that the strategy includes signing promising boxers like Adebayo, the current Nigeria youth champion, and Taiwo Esepog Agbaj, a known name in the industry. The ultimate goal is to host world championship fights in Nigeria, allowing Nigerian boxers to dictate the pace of their careers.

The event also featured other boxing matches, showcasing the talent under the Balmor banner.
