Muibi to Challenge Appah for WBO Africa Cruiserweight Title

Lekan Engin Muibi, the current Nigerian West African light heavyweight champion, is set to challenge Goddai Zodsolo Appah for the WBO Africa Cruiserweight Title. Muibi boasts an impressive record of 20 wins in 20 fights, with 19 of those victories coming by knockout.

He expressed confidence in his ability to transition to the cruiserweight division, emphasizing that the weight difference of just 5kg is manageable. Appah, who claimed the title on May 1 in Lagos after defeating fellow Nigerian boxer Ezra Arenyeka by a major decision in a 10-round bout, has a record of 15 wins, 2 losses, and 13 knockouts.

Muibi criticized Appah for avoiding a fight earlier this year, claiming Appah took an easier option against Arenyeka. Muibi's coach, Monsuru Kelani, expressed strong belief in Muibi's potential to win the title, stating that Muibi is a fierce and talented fighter.

The bout is anticipated to be a significant challenge for Appah.
