ARCN Endorses New Association for Agricultural PR Officers

The Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) has expressed its support for the newly established Association of Agricultural Research Institutes and Colleges Public Relations Officers (AARIC PRO). Dr.

Adamu Abubakar Dabbaan, the Executive Secretary of ARCN, emphasized the importance of professional synergy among public relations officers within agricultural research institutions. During a meeting on Tuesday, he highlighted the need for a strategic integration of public relations functions to enhance the visibility and stakeholder confidence in agricultural priorities, particularly food security and economic development.

The meeting included representatives from various institutions, such as Asagunla Oluwafunk from the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, and Aishatu Samaila from the Federal College of Horticulture, Dadinkowa. Mr.

Kalimat Balogun, the Director of Administration, commended the initiative, noting the importance of establishing structured public relations units. The association aims to standardize practices and will hold quarterly meetings to coordinate activities across the ARCN ecosystem.

A maiden magazine is also set to be published to highlight research achievements.
