Adeoti Backs Adeleke, Joins ADC Ahead of Elections

Moshood Adeoti, a prominent politician and former secretary in Osun State, has publicly declared his support for the second term of Governor Ademola Adeleke. This announcement coincides with his decision to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alongside thousands of supporters across Osun State.

Adeoti's shift is reportedly influenced by internal disagreements within the Omoluabi ADC political bloc. He has expressed a preference for Najeem Salam, the former speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, as the ADC governorship candidate for the upcoming elections on August 8.

Adeoti's declaration marks a significant re-entry into the political arena after a two-month hiatus from active politics, following consultations with stakeholders across the state. His announcement was made during a town hall meeting in Osogbo, where he emphasized the extensive reach and organizational strength of his political structure, which includes grassroots coordinators from all 332 wards in Osun State.
