Arewa Youths Support Military Pension Board Reforms

The Northern Security Advocacy Group (NSAG) has publicly backed the reforms initiated by Mikail Abdulraheem, the Chairman of the Military Pension Board (MPB). In a press conference held in Abuja, NSAG's speaker, Jonathan Onoja, condemned efforts to undermine Abdulraheem's leadership, alleging that these attempts are driven by retired senior military officers aiming to distract from ongoing reforms within the pension system.

Abdulraheem has introduced several reforms, including a digital verification system designed to enhance transparency and expedite pension payments, thereby improving the welfare of retired military personnel. Onoja emphasized that these reforms aim to reduce administrative bottlenecks, facilitating easier access for elderly veterans to their entitlements without unnecessary delays.

He urged media outlets to investigate and report accurately, cautioning against unverified claims that misrepresent the institution's processes. Dr.
