Amadi and Osuntokun Criticize Wike's Aide's Interview

Sam Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, and Akin Osuntokun, Political Director at Arise News, criticized Lere Olayinka, spokesman for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for his behavior during a television interview on Friday. The interview, part of The Morning Show, was cut short after Olayinka refused to answer a question from anchor Rufai Oseni regarding FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's stance on the membership of President Bola Tinubu's 2027 campaign council.

Olayinka stated he preferred to engage with "reasonable human beings," which led to objections from another anchor, Ayo Mairo. Amadi remarked that Olayinka squandered a chance to articulate the minister's position to a broader audience, emphasizing that public officials should use media appearances to communicate effectively rather than engage in confrontations.

He also urged journalists to maintain professionalism while scrutinizing claims made by public officials.
