Wike Criticizes Kingibe for Poor Representation Ahead of Elections

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), publicly criticized Senator Ireti Kingibe for her alleged poor representation and media grandstanding. During a briefing with journalists on Tuesday, Wike dismissed Kingibe's claims of non-cooperation, stating that his role is to serve all residents of the FCT, not just one political figure.

He accused her of political desperation as the elections approach, suggesting that she should prioritize accountability to her constituents over media appearances. Wike emphasized that true representation involves active legislative engagement rather than public relations stunts during crises.

He stated that residents are aware of Kingibe's performance record, particularly regarding flood management, and asserted that her media appearances would not change public perception. Wike concluded that effective lawmaking requires direct community consultation and parliamentary action, criticizing Kingibe's approach as ineffective.
