Army Chief Hosts Eid Luncheon for Troops in Edo State

On May 28, 2026, Chief of Army Staff Waidi Shaibu hosted a special Eid el-Kabir luncheon for troops at Forward Operating Base Ehor in Uhunmwond Local Government Area, Edo State. During the event, Shaibu emphasized the significance of Eid el-Kabir, highlighting its promotion of virtues such as sacrifice and faith, which align with military principles.

He commended the troops of the 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, led by Brigadier General Ahm Balogun, for their loyalty, courage, resilience, and commitment to ongoing military operations across the country. Shaibu assured the personnel of the Nigerian Army's commitment to improving their welfare and urged them to uphold core values of service.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support of the armed forces, particularly in personnel welfare. The luncheon also provided an opportunity for troops to renew their dedication to duty and strengthen camaraderie.
