Army Commander Assures Sokoto Community of Security

Major General Bemgba Koughna, the General Officer Commanding of the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, visited Kebbe Local Government Area in Sokoto State on Sunday to evaluate the security situation following threats from the Lakurawa terrorist group. The visit was announced by Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 8 Division and Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

Koughna assessed the Forward Operating Base in Kebbe and surrounding areas after reports of renewed attacks on the Ungushi community. He met with local leaders and residents, addressing their concerns and reviewing the security landscape.

Koughna assured the community that the Nigerian Army had enhanced its security measures to prevent terrorist infiltration and protect vulnerable populations. He emphasized the Army's commitment to responding swiftly to threats and urged residents to collaborate with security forces by providing credible intelligence to help disrupt terrorist activities.
