Terrorists Attack Kebbe Town in Sokoto, Four Soldiers Killed

On Friday, suspected Lakurawa terrorists launched an attack on Kebbe town, the headquarters of Kebbe local government area in Sokoto State. The Sokoto State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that security personnel responded promptly and that there were no civilian casualties.

However, police spokesperson Ahmad Rufai reported that four soldiers were killed during the confrontation, a claim that the Nigerian Army did not confirm when contacted. Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, acting deputy director of Army Public Relations for the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division and Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, was approached for clarification regarding military involvement and casualty figures.

He declined to confirm or deny the reported deaths, citing security protocols and advised that details about military operations and casualties could not be disclosed remotely. He suggested visiting the 8 Division headquarters for further information.
