The Nigerian Army has set up an internal probe panel to investigate personnel suspected of leaking information about a recent Boko Haram attack in Yobe State. This decision follows public reports detailing the coordinated insurgent attack on two military installations, which reportedly led to casualties among soldiers and mobilized police officers.

The leak has triggered anger among top security officials in Abuja, prompting an immediate military response. Sources indicate that the command received calls shortly after the report was published, leading to heightened concern within military circles.

The committee's mandate is to trace operational information leaks, particularly regarding recent Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) related incidents. Additionally, military authorities have tightened control over operational information, instructing personnel to withhold details about attacks, with potential disciplinary actions against soldiers suspected of speaking to the press.

This development follows a midnight assault targeting military formations in Yobe State, including a training center in Buni Gari.
