Nigerian Army Marks 163rd Anniversary, Reaffirms Commitment

The Nigerian Army, under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, renewed its commitment to defending Nigeria's sovereignty and territorial integrity during a church service held to mark its 163rd anniversary. Major General Maxwel Dangana, representing the Army Headquarters Garrison in Abuja, described the anniversary as an opportunity to appreciate God’s faithfulness and honor fallen heroes.

The service highlighted the courage and dedication of personnel deployed across various operational theaters. Lieutenant General Shaibu noted that the anniversary serves as a reminder of the Army's constitutional mandate to ensure the safety and prosperity of citizens.

Brigadier General Anthoni Maimagani, the Director of Chaplain Services, urged troops to emulate Jesus Christ in their service to the nation. The event called for divine intervention and wisdom for national leaders and emphasized the Army's ongoing adaptation to emerging security challenges.
