Troops Arrest Woman and Child Near Borno Terrorist Enclave

On Wednesday, the 26 Task Force Brigade intercepted a 20-year-old woman named Aisha Idrisa and her 2-year-old child, Musbahu Christoph, while conducting picket duties along the Gwoza-Pulka road near the foothills of Mandara Mountain in Borno State. The area is known to harbor remnants of terrorist groups operating along the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

During the arrest, troops recovered items including an Itel mobile phone and extra batteries. Aisha reportedly claimed she was heading to a farm; however, intelligence available to the troops suggested she was attempting to gain access to a terrorist enclave.

Following her arrest, she is currently in custody of the 26 Task Force Brigade for further interrogation and necessary action. This interception is part of ongoing efforts under Operation Hadin Kai to block movement routes used by insurgents, particularly around the Mandara Mountain area.
