On Wednesday, a tragic school shooting occurred in Kahramanmara, Turkey, resulting in at least one fatality and injuries to 16 individuals, including students. The local governor, Mukerrem Unluer, confirmed the incident during a broadcast on private NTV.

Reports indicate that gunfire was heard intensely around the school, leading parents to rush to the scene as police increased security measures. Footage from the area showed ambulances present.

The shooting was carried out by a former student who opened fire at a secondary school, prompting a response from police officers. Justice Minister Akin Gurlek stated that the local prosecutor's office has launched an immediate investigation into the shooting.
