Athletic Club Appoints Edin Terzic as Head Coach

Athletic Club has confirmed the appointment of Edin Terzic as their new head coach on a two-year contract, effective from the next season. The announcement follows the resignation of Ernesto Valverde, who stepped down in March after four years in charge.

Terzic, 43, will officially take over the role at the Bilbao club this summer. He arrives in Spain after two spells leading Borussia Dortmund, where he was instrumental in guiding the club to major title challenges, including winning the German Cup in 2021 and reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2024.

His departure from Dortmund came after a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid at Wembley. Athletic Club has opted for Terzic to bring fresh ideas and European experience, despite former player Andoni Iraola being heavily linked to a return from AFC Bournemouth, where he is set to leave this summer.

Currently, Athletic Club sits eighth in the La Liga table with four matches remaining in the season.
