Atiku Abubakar Urges Focus on Economic Challenges

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar stated that the renewed focus on past allegations against him serves as a distraction from the pressing economic challenges currently faced by Nigerians. In a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku emphasized that issues such as the rising cost of living, food prices, transportation, electricity, education, healthcare, and insecurity are more relevant today.

He criticized those defending the government for reverting to old political arguments when they cannot address the difficulties ordinary families encounter. Atiku pointed out that the allegations against him had been thoroughly investigated by relevant institutions during his time in office, including the EFCC, the National Assembly, and the courts, with no convictions resulting from these allegations.

He reiterated that anyone with credible evidence should bring it forward and test it in a legal context.
