Femi Fani-Kayode Critiques Atiku's 33-Year Presidency Quest

Femi Fani-Kayode, the former Minister of Aviation, criticized Atiku Abubakar for his prolonged ambition to become President of Nigeria, stating that Atiku has spent 33 years pursuing this goal. In his commentary titled “The Seventh Bid of Waziri,” Fani-Kayode reviewed Atiku’s political journey, which includes multiple presidential contests and shifts between political parties.

Atiku is currently the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress in the 2027 election, with former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi as his running mate. Fani-Kayode noted that Atiku's presidential ambitions began in 1993 with the Social Democratic Party and continued through various parties, including the Action Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party.

He has attempted to secure the presidency six times prior, with his latest bid being the seventh. Fani-Kayode described Atiku as a “political wanderer” and highlighted his historical relationship with former President Olusegun Obasanjo during their time in government from 1999 to 2007.
