Atiku, Kwam 1 Honor Late Nollywood Star Ogogo in Ilaro

Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, passed away at the age of 66 after a battle with stage-four cancer. His death occurred on Sunday, and he was buried in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday, August 24.

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar expressed his condolences, describing Ogogo's death as “deeply saddening” and a significant loss to Nigeria's creative community. Atiku praised Ogogo's contributions to entertainment, stating that he brought laughter to many homes and used his talent to educate and inspire.

The burial prayer was held at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground at 10 a.m., in accordance with Islamic rites. Additionally, Fuji star Kwam 1, also known as Wasiu Ayinde, was visibly emotional during a live performance in Mushin, Lagos, upon hearing the news of Ogogo's passing, briefly stopping his performance to pay tribute to the late actor.
