Tributes Pour In as Veteran Actor Ogogo is Laid to Rest

Veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was laid to rest at his residence in Ilaro, Ogun State. The burial was attended by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Wasiu Isiaka, along with Nollywood stars and government officials.

Prayers were held at Agunloye Ashade Pavilion in Ilaro. President Bola Tinubu, in a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described Ogogo as a distinguished artiste whose career significantly influenced Yoruba-language theatre and Nigerian cinema.

Tinubu noted that Ogogo entertained generations of Nigerians and promoted Yoruba culture. He expressed condolences to Ogogo's family and urged the creative industry to honor his memory by preserving cultural values.

Governor Abiodun also mourned Ogogo, calling him an exceptional theatre practitioner and a proud Yoruba man, emphasizing the loss felt by the community and the nation.
