Atiku Abubakar and Lagos Mourn Veteran Actor Ogogo

Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, passed away at the age of 66 on Sunday after a battle with cancer. His death was confirmed by multiple sources, including Seun Oloketuyi, the founder of Best of Nollywood.

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar expressed his sorrow, stating that it was particularly painful that the public became aware of Hassan's illness only days before his death. Atiku described Hassan as a gifted actor who brought laughter to many homes and used his talent to educate and inspire.

He noted that Hassan's passing left a "painful void" in Nigeria's creative community. The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, through Commissioner Toke Benson-Awoyinka, also mourned Hassan, calling him a cultural icon and a custodian of Yoruba heritage.

The ministry acknowledged his contributions to the entertainment industry and the preservation of Yoruba culture, extending condolences to his family and the wider Nollywood community.
