Atiku Congratulates Adeleke on Osun State Re-election

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and 2027 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), congratulated Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State. In a message shared on his X handle, Atiku described Adeleke's victory as a reflection of the people's choice at the ballot box and commended the electorate for their passion and peaceful participation in the election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke, the candidate of the Accord Party, as the winner of the closely contested election, which took place on a Sunday morning. Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, defeating his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 444,815 votes.

Najeem Salaam, the ADC candidate, finished third with 17,180 votes. The results were announced by the Returning Officer, Joshua Ogunwole, at the INEC Collation Centre in Osogbo, where a total of 15 political parties contested the election, and 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards had been collected in the state.
