Atiku Abubakar Urges INEC for Credible Osun Election

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against actions that could undermine the credibility of the upcoming governorship election in Osun State. Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday during the National Youth Leadership Summit of the ADC, he described the election as a crucial test for Nigeria’s electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atiku insisted on the need for transparency, stating that election materials must arrive on time, accredited voters should vote freely, and results must be transmitted transparently. He also urged President Bola Tinubu to refrain from using government institutions for partisan advantage and called on security agencies to protect voters.

Additionally, Atiku campaigned for ADC's Osun governorship candidate, Najeem Salaam, during the ADC's campaign rally in Osogbo, asserting that the ADC is distinct from other political parties and has attracted Nigeria's best leaders.
