Atiku Abubakar Condemns Wike's Threat to Journalist

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, criticized Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, over alleged threats made against a journalist, which Wike reportedly suggested could lead to violence. In a statement released on Saturday, Atiku described Wike's comments as reckless and warned that such rhetoric from government officials poses a significant threat to democratic values.

He argued that Wike's remarks are part of a broader trend of hostility towards dissenting voices under President Bola Tinubu's administration. Atiku's media office demanded an immediate public apology from Wike and called on the federal government to repudiate such dangerous rhetoric, ensuring the safety of journalists in Nigeria.
