Atiku Blames Tinubu for Youths Selling Organs in Nigeria

Atiku Abubakar, a presidential candidate, issued a statement on his social media platforms on Friday, condemning the economic policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration for making Nigeria increasingly expensive. He highlighted alarming reports of young Nigerians resorting to selling their kidneys for as little as ₦1.7 million to survive.

Atiku stated that young people should focus on selling dreams and innovations rather than their body parts. He lamented that the rising cost of living, including food, transport, rent, and healthcare, is driving this desperation.

Atiku emphasized that while Nigeria has laws against commercial organ sales and trafficking, these laws alone cannot address the underlying poverty and desperation. He called for economic reforms that prioritize affordable living conditions, decent jobs, and renewed hope for the youth, asserting that no government should celebrate reforms while young Nigerians are forced to sell their organs to meet basic needs.
