Atiku to Inherit Buhari's 12M Northern Votes in 2027

Dr. Jackson Lekan Ojo, a former chieftain of the APC, declared in an interview that Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, is likely to inherit the 12 million block votes from the north that were traditionally associated with late President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2027 elections.

Ojo noted that the votes from the south will be split among ten presidential candidates, while the northern votes will remain largely intact. He dismissed the political relevance of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, stating that Kwankwaso has lost significant political ground in Kano State and has no serious political base today.

Ojo also warned that President Bola Tinubu may face betrayals within the APC from northern elements. He criticized the idea of zoning in Nigeria, arguing that it has not worked effectively and that mutual agreements are insufficient for governance.

Ojo's statements reflect the current political landscape as Nigeria approaches the next presidential election.
