Omokri Claims Nigerians Better Off Under Tinubu's Leadership

Reno Omokri, the Nigerian Ambassador-designate to Mexico, asserted that the average Nigerian is better off under President Bola Tinubu's government since he took office in May 2023, despite the prevailing hardship and poverty affecting millions. In an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Channels Television's Politics Today, Omokri acknowledged the existence of poverty but emphasized that the Federal Government is implementing measures to alleviate it.

He mentioned the ongoing efforts to enhance local government autonomy, which he believes will foster grassroots development. Omokri cited various infrastructure projects, including the Sokoto-Ilela-Badagry superhighway and the 750-kilometre Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, as initiatives aimed at reducing transportation costs and improving economic activity.

He also defended the administration's record on fuel availability, claiming that Nigerians no longer face long queues at fuel stations. Omokri pointed to advancements in education and urban transportation as further evidence of the government's efforts to improve the lives of Nigerians.
