Atiku's Aide Critiques Omokri on Living Costs in Nigeria

Phrank Shaibu, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, responded to Reno Omokri, Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Mexico, regarding Omokri's assertion that Nigerians could survive on N3,000 daily. Shaibu contended that this claim inadvertently acknowledged the increased cost of living under President Bola Tinubu's administration.

Omokri had stated during an appearance on Sunday Politics that his assessment of food prices indicated that N3,000 could suffice for daily living, although he recognized that this amount would be considered poverty in the United States. Shaibu calculated that N3,000 daily totals N90,000 monthly, exceeding the current minimum wage of N70,000, suggesting that a worker would need to borrow money to meet basic needs.

He concluded by stating that Omokri's comments confirmed the hardships faced by Nigerians and asserted that Atiku Abubakar would work to make Nigeria affordable again.
