Aviation Workers Suspend Strike After NCAA Intervention

The Aviation Ground Handlers Association of Nigeria announced the suspension of its planned industrial action, which was set to commence on Thursday, following intervention from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA). The association's chairman, Olaniyi Adigun, and vice chairman, Ahm Bashir, stated that the decision to halt the strike was made in the interest of dialogue and industry stability.

The NCAA invited the association to a formal meeting scheduled for May 12 at the NCAA annex office in Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. The association received formal communication from airline operators in Nigeria regarding the issues at the heart of the dispute, which they described as an encouraging step toward resolving the crisis.

The association reiterated its commitment to maintaining operational stability and safety across Nigerian airports while emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue among stakeholders.
