Fusengbuwa Ruling House Removes Leaders Over Fraud Claims

On Sunday, members of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, removed three leaders: Chairman Abdulateef Owoyemi, Vice-Chairman Prof Fassy Yusuf, and Deputy Chairman Adeodokun Ajidagba. This decision followed a meeting at the Agunsebi Family House, presided over by secretary Adeleke Adeyemi, after a nine-member fact-finding committee submitted a 25-page report detailing allegations of financial inducement and irregularities in the selection process for the next Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland.

The committee, chaired by Olusegun Olusoga and with Adeyemo Oduneye as secretary, was formed in June after petitions were filed against the three leaders. The report indicated a breakdown of unity and communication among the leaders and highlighted a lack of transparency in the candidate selection process.

The family unanimously adopted the committee's findings, leading to the immediate removal of the three leaders to restore peace and respect for the Awujale institution.
