Fusengbuwa Ruling House Removes Leaders Over Bribery

On Sunday, members of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, announced the removal of three leaders: Chairman Abdulateef Owoyemi, Vice-Chairman Prof. Fassy Yusuf, and Deputy Chairman Adeodokun Ajidagba.

This decision followed a 25-page report from a nine-member Fact-Finding Committee, chaired by Olusegun Olusoga and with Adeyemo Oduneye as secretary, which investigated allegations of financial inducement and irregularities in the selection of the next Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland. The committee was formed in June 2026 after petitions were filed against the trio.

During the meeting at Agunsebi Family House, Secretary Adeleke Adeyemi announced the findings, stating that only Owoyemi appeared before the committee while Ajidagba and Yusuf declined. The committee found a lack of transparency and due process in the candidate selection.

The family unanimously voted for the leaders' removal based on the committee's findings regarding bribery and malpractices.
