Bago Pledges to Tackle Insecurity in Niger State

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed a strong commitment to addressing insecurity in the state, soliciting the support of the populace to achieve this goal. Bago made this pledge during a meeting with the Emir of Kontagora, Alhaji Muhammad Mu’azu Barau, at the Emir's palace.

He acknowledged the efforts of security agencies in the state, which he noted have produced positive results, and urged them to continue their work. The governor also called on traditional title holders to cease land grabbing, which he indicated often leads to communal conflicts and fatalities, warning that such actions would no longer be tolerated by his administration.

With the farming season approaching, Bago advised farmers against cultivating on road shoulders to prevent clashes with herders. Additionally, he announced the government's decision to reconstruct the Kontagora township road as part of his new Niger Agenda.

Bago extended condolences to the Emir and the community over the passing of the Wazirin Kontagora.
