Gombe Governor Launches Anti-Terror Campaign for Security

On a statewide broadcast, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya unveiled an anti-terror campaign, asserting that insecurity poses the most significant threat to Northern Nigeria. He called on residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements to security agencies, emphasizing that security is a collective responsibility.

Yahaya described insecurity as a direct impediment to sustainable development, stating that without peace, development is unattainable. He commended the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for their sacrifices in protecting lives and property.

The governor also announced the establishment of a Ministry of Internal Security and the creation of a Gombe State Security Traffic Environment Corps to enhance local vigilance. He urged security agencies to adopt modern technology and engage communities in intelligence-led operations while respecting human rights.

Yahaya expressed support for President Bola Tinubu's anti-terror efforts and encouraged citizens to unite against terrorism and violence.
