Niger State's Infrastructure Growth Under Bago Administration

Since taking office in May 2023, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago's administration in Niger State has prioritized infrastructure development, focusing on roads, healthcare, agriculture, education, and youth empowerment. The government has constructed or rehabilitated over 1,000 kilometers of roads across the 25 local government areas.

The Commissioner for Works, Suleiman Umar, stated that inherited projects from former Governor Abubakar Sani Bello would continue, emphasizing the importance of these public investments. In healthcare, the state government is upgrading and constructing Level 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, with a goal of establishing 100 facilities, 20 of which were commissioned in 2025.

The administration is also enhancing agricultural support to boost food production. While some residents appreciate these efforts, others express concerns, such as the need for improved electricity and timely fertilizer distribution for farmers.
