Bako Demands Resignation of NFF Board Over Failures

Dr. Danladi Bako, the former Sokoto State FA Chairman, has publicly called for the resignation of the Ibrahim Musa Gusau-led board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), labeling their continued tenure as an aberration. He criticized the board for failing to secure World Cup qualifications for the Super Eagles since 2018, highlighting that even smaller nations like Cape Verde and Curacao have qualified.

Bako, who previously produced the sports program "MasterSports" on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and advocated for an increase in Africa's World Cup slots in 1992, expressed disappointment over the Super Eagles' lack of success and the Super Falcons' failure to qualify for the Women's World Cup for the first time in 35 years. He emphasized that the board's incompetence, rather than bad luck, is responsible for these failures, and he believes that past military regimes would have acted more decisively in response to such poor performance.
