Basketball Africa League Season Six Tips Off in March, Finals in Rwanda

The Basketball Africa League (BAL) has announced the commencement of its sixth season on March 27 at the Sunbet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa, with the finals scheduled for May 31 at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda. The season will showcase 12 top club teams from 12 African countries, competing in 42 games across various locations including Pretoria, Rabat in Morocco, and Kigali.

The teams will be divided into two conferences, each playing 15 games during the group phase. The season will witness eight teams qualifying for the playoffs in Kigali from May 22 to 31, with matches returning to South Africa, Morocco, and Rwanda.

The BAL season aims to promote basketball in Africa, with various social impact programs planned in Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and Senegal, including youth initiatives and gender equality projects. The season will also feature collaborations with partners like Afreximbank, Air Senegal, Amazon Web Services, and others.

The previous season saw Libya's Al Ahli Tripoli emerge as the first Libyan team to win the BAL final, expanding the league's reach to fans in 214 countries and territories.
