Oba Ajibola Warns of Bandit Threats to Ibadan Security

On Thursday, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, the Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland and a member of the Olubadan-in-Council, expressed alarm over plans by suspected bandits to invade Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. Speaking at the inauguration of newly elected executive members and installation of new Agbekoya Chieftaincy holders by the Agbekoya Farmers Society of Nigeria, he emphasized the need for heightened security measures and urged the community to remain vigilant and united against potential threats.

Oba Ajibola called for the use of traditional powers for self-defense and warned against division among community members. In response, the President-General of the Agbekoya Farmers Society, High Chief Kamorudeen Okikiola, stated that the association is prepared to confront any bandits attempting to attack communities in the South-west.

He highlighted the ongoing issues with herders attacking farmers and noted that Agbekoya has significantly contributed to regional security efforts, albeit without seeking publicity for their actions.
