Makinde Honors Late Bamanga Tukur as National Icon

Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor and Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, expressed his condolences following the death of Bamanga Tukur, the former Governor of the old Gongola State, who passed away at the age of 90. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Anthony Ehilebo, Makinde described Tukur as a national icon who dedicated his life to the service and development of Nigeria.

He highlighted Tukur's significant contributions to the political, economic, and democratic development of Nigeria throughout his extensive public service career. Tukur held various prominent positions, including General Manager of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Minister of Industries, and National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Makinde noted that Tukur's death is a great loss to Nigeria, Africa, and humanity, emphasizing the enduring legacies he left behind. The Makinde/Daura Campaign extended their condolences to Tukur's family and the government of Adamawa State during this time of grief.
