Nigerian Authors Association Urges Govt Action to Combat Banditry in Niger

The National President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Usman Akanbi Oladipo, called on the Niger State and Federal Government to protect communities from bandit attacks. Oladipo expressed deep concern over the continuous assaults on farming communities in parts of Niger State, leading to the displacement of thousands of farmers and disrupting agricultural activities.

The ANA urged the immediate deployment of effective security measures, including the use of drones, to secure the affected areas and enable displaced farmers to return home safely. The attacks not only threaten food security but also have severe socio-economic consequences, including the disruption of education and livelihoods in the region.
